Help me give my students a completely upgraded and updated classroom! This is the second half of the update to our classroom providing curtain rods, curtains, picture frames, and hanging shelves.
I work with high school-aged students who are either pregnant or already parenting while trying to reach graduation. These incredible students are often carrying such a heavy load of responsibility and many of them have a trauma history. In addition to working towards graduation, they are parenting and often also working part-time jobs.
My students are incredible mothers doing all they can to achieve the best possible future for themselves and their children.
They are inspiring! My program exists to support them in connecting with community resources that will assist them along the path to graduation and beyond while giving them the parenting skills they need to raise happy, healthy children.
My Project
This is the second part of our classroom upgrade/update. My previous project provided my classroom with more modular seating and updated furniture; this is continuing the theme of making our classroom feel more like home by bringing in some warmth with decorative items. Additionally, the picture frames will be used to display photographs of my students and their children, just as you would in your own home.
My students have marveled at the updates we have already provided and are excited about continuing to make this space feel like theirs!
We are looking forward to finishing this space and being able to move forward this school year with that feeling of family in this shared space we have created together.
