My Students

My speech students get so excited about coming to their sessions each week! They are eager to learn what theme we have each week. Not only are they learning to use correct speech sounds and correct language, but they are also learning about things that are important in the world around us. They love to ask questions and participate in each weekly activity that makes speech a little more fun.

My Project

When I purchase themed products from Teachers Pay Teachers, my students are able to not only learn about the weekly theme in my classroom, but they are able to demonstrate carryover with speech and language goals as they explain to parents, guardians, and teachers what we have been learning in my speech and language room. I have found that kids are more motivated by weekly themes and short videos/books about these topics than drilling sounds and/or asking the same language questions over and over again. Also, when I use these worksheets, the students are able to keep them and continue practicing until they come back to speech and language for the next session. It's a win-win for everyone!
