Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Every day I have the joy of walking into a classroom and seeing 20 happy, smiling, faces. My students come to school each day just ready to take in every word and experience I have to offer them. Being an early childhood school we strive to make their first learning experiences as beneficial as possible.
Our school services children from all over the city of Chicago with unique abilities.
They come to us so we can bring out their full potential in all areas of life. As a special education teacher, it is my goal to meet every child’s needs and make sure they know they are loved.
My Project
Our school district provides our learners with free breakfast and lunch daily. The meals always include fresh fruit, veggies, milk and juice. Having a small refrigerator in the classroom would guarantee that these nutritional items will stay fresh and provide them with the nutrition their little bodies crave.
Having a full tummy with healthy foods will help our students have the energy they need to focus on the rich curriculum we provide.
It makes me so happy that we can provide all students with nutritional foods that help set the foundation for healthy eating habits that will lead to healthy bodies.
