Celebrate Black Teachers and Students
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are determined to succeed. They overcome tremendous obstacles just to show up for school each day. They come from a high poverty neighborhood in Pennsylvania. Our school is situated in a neighborhood plagued by violence.
Many of the children we serve come from single-parent homes or are living with grandparents or even in foster care, but they show up ready to learn and determined to succeed. My job is to help them reach that goal. I would love your support.
My Project
Students shouldn’t have to come into a dirty classroom to learn. Unfortunately in inner city classrooms cleaning becomes the responsibility of the classroom teacher. With the use of the Clorox wipes the kids can help by cleaning their desks to prevent germs from being spread. They will use the swifter to keep our floors clean. This way the room is more sanitary. They will use the tissues and hand sanitizer to prevent spreading germs when they are sick or use the restroom. If the kids are healthy they will miss less school and then they will be in a classroom learning which is our end goal.
