Help me give my students supplies for remote learning. As I will be livestreaming from home, I am requesting a webcam and microphone for the classroom, as well an extra monitor, document camera and light for my office.
French immersion rocks! My students are in the French immersion program, and they learn the second grade curriculum in French. My students don't come from France, their families don't speak French, and this program is open to everyone!
They spend half the day in my class where French is the only language allowed!
With me, they learn math, science and literacy in French. They spend the other half of the day in the English class where they learn to read, write and spell in English.
They are incredibly fast learners, and I am so proud to see their progress month after month. In first grade, they learn the basics (colors, numbers, days, months), but in second grade, they are expected to say full sentences in French!
This program is a great opportunity for students to learn a new language and to discover a new culture!
My Project
This school year, due to health issues, I am livestreaming from home to my 2nd grade students who are in the classroom. This is a big adjustement for everyone and I want to make sure I provide them excellent teaching with great technology.
I want to feel as close as possible to my students, despite the distance.
I am confident that a better quality of audio and video will make for an enhanced experience, so I am requesting a microphone, webcam and extra monitor. The document camera will allow me to share things that are non-digital and model some math practices. Blue light glasses will make watching the screen more comfortable. The laptop cooling pad is a precaution to avoid the risk of overheating.
This year will definitely be different, but I am excited to find new ways to keep my students engaged and make sure they get a positive experience despite the circumstances!
