Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our classroom has 25 unique personalities, that all are creative in their own way, seek adventure in learning, and have high-set goals for college!
My students love inquiry-based projects, getting their hands dirty, and learning through a variety of methods.
We are an international baccalaureate school, encouraging all of our scholars to pursue a future that not only includes a college education, but also finding ways to improve the world around them. Whether they invest in their local community or strive to improve things worldwide- we push the focus beyond ourselves!
My Project
Our scholars are very engaged in activities that allow them to move around the classroom, work in new locations, or sit with new partners. We're hoping to collect clipboards for inquiry investigations, rotating centers, and floor work time!
Having clipboards will allow them a little more freedom and flexibility to work creatively and collaboratively.
These clipboards also double as dry-erase boards, which is an asset for math time and fantastic for reviews sessions. It also helps us cut down on paper waste in our classroom!
Another wish we have for our class is more headphones. Currently, we do not have enough to go with our 10 Chromebooks, so each day we have a few scholars who are unable to get the full experience of a program they use during Guided Reading. A few more sets would allow each scholar to have headphones while using a computer!
