My students need flexible seating to make the room more comfortable. With these stand up desks, it gives my students more freedom!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This is the first year for me to be with this district. From day one I have loved it. My new district is in a rural area, I have students that come from many different backgrounds. 98% of my students come from economically disadvantaged households. This does not hold them back. They come to school prepared to succeed each and everyday.
We are a small campus, this year I have 86 students, and in two years I will have around 55 students.
Many of my students are involved in sports, National Junior Honors Society, FFA, and band all at once! I do not see how they have the time to do all of these things and keep up with their classes but they do.
I want my classroom to give back everything and more that my students put into it. I want them to to enjoy being in here, please help me to help them!
My Project
My students will be able to have a choice of standing or sitting. Standing desks are a healthy alternative to traditional sitting desks. I have several students a year that have problems sitting still and if I had a place for them to stand and do their work, they did so much better!
Students are tired of sitting in desks for 50 minutes 7 times a day!
They need to move a little. With these stand up desks, my students will be able to either sit or stand in my classroom. This is one step on the road to alternative seating in my room!
