Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is a Title 1 school that strives to connect with the community and families surrounding each student in order to form partnerships and allow students to achieve greater success.
My class will consist of about 25 amazing students.
I will be a first year teacher and have not had the opportunity to meet my students yet but I am trying to ensure I have all the materials to ensure the highest levels of success for the students in my class!
My Project
Studies have shown that providing students with outlets for their energy allows them to attain deeper focus in the classroom and retain more information. These sensory and fidget tools allow students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. By having these hands-on tools such as fidget spinners, foam, sensory rollers, and other items, students will be able to identify what items work best for helping them in the classroom as well as advocate for themselves and their needs.
Students will be more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given an outlet for all the energy they must contain while sitting in the classroom for hours at a time.
The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them tools to allow them to focus. The wobble cushions and chair bands will allow students to sit at their desk and still be able to move around in a way that does not disrupt others. These will be extremely beneficial for some students that just need to get their wiggles out.
