My students need a classroom set of the novel Freckle Juice and post it notes to help us annotate text and take notes during reading. I will need the teachers guide.

My students are just discovering a love for chapter books. They are letting their imaginations soar as they fall in love with characters and discover that reading isn't actually a chore!
Being a first year educator in a low income urban school provides additional challenges on a daily basis.
As I am sure you can imagine, providing a valuable learning experience at the elementary setting is difficult with old and limited resources. I am employed with a low-income urban public school that educates more than 450 students. I teach 25 of these students in my third grade class. Due to the school closures across the city, the school I work for welcomed more than 200 students in the 2013-2014 school year. Most of my students came to me reading well below grade level, but we are quickly picking up steam as we head into the second half of the year.
I have been incorporating more read alouds into the classroom setting, and my students are enjoying every minute of it. They beg me to read another chapter every day, and ask to see the pictures again and again. This will be our first chance to read a book together as a class. I chose Freckle Juice because it is at their instructional level, which will push them to learn new vocabulary and model appropriate reading strategies. I will also be sharing this novel set with my 3rd grade colleagues so we can maximize our students' novel study materials. This way we will have opportunities to read many books together.
By reading novels together as a class, my students can learn to love reading, rather than seeing it as a chore.
I want them to feel a sense of accomplishment when they dive deep into a book and really engulf it from cover to cover. I hope to instill a lifetime love for reading.
