My Students

My students are active, life-long learners! My students are eager and want to learn on a daily basis.

I have 21 resource students in a small school in a rural school district.

Many of my students come in and out of my classroom daily. I also provide support for all of my students in the regular education classrooms. It is my job to make sure each and every one of my students is meeting their own potential. It is important to me, as an educator, that each student has an individual plan for their education that fosters excellence and independence.

My Project

Fractions, fractions, fractions are everywhere! My students need different kinds of manipulatives to help them learn fractions. These materials of kits and circles will be used for all of my 4th and 5th grade students in the resource room.

All students learn differently, and most of my students are visual learners.

With these materials, I will be able to provide three different methods to learning how to compare fractions, and the students will be able to choose what works best for them. My students will also be able to manipulate the pieces for better understanding. These materials can be used independently, and in small groups sessions.
