My Students

We are family - that's the word that best describes my class of eager 7 and 8 year-olds! While third grade curriculum is my main focus, I also stress character education, good manners and kindness to others and self. Students, teachers and parents become a big family. As a 25-year veteran, I understand that character education and emotional support is just as important as traditional school subjects. I work hard to develop the whole child, and when my students leave, I am confident I am sending not only great scholars, but great people into the world.

My Project

Teachers introduce third graders to the world of fractions in a variety of ways. One of the most effective methods for helping students master fractions is putting fraction bars in those kids' hands! This set of fraction manipulatives will allow me to give an entire set of fraction bars to each of my students during math time. With these fraction bars. students will be able to physically manipulate, compare and contrast fractions as they discuss their discoveries with their peers. We are also asking for a package of ink for our classroom printer so we can design and print colorful fraction pictures.
