My Students

I am privileged to work with all 6th through 8th grade students in our junior high. I have the opportunity to work with students, as a class or on an individual basis. In our lessons, I help students build a strong foundation of mathematics as they head into high school.

Our school is a Title 1 school with 32% of students identified as economically disadvantaged.

I am excited to share with students the many opportunities they have available in my classroom, both here at school and in our community.

My Project

My students need to practice and reinforce their fraction skills. The fraction dice and operations dice will allow students to efficiently grab resources and practice a skill when finished early, as a pod activity or as a warm up.

The dice will allow our students to have some fraction action on a regular basis to maintain this skill.

Students are noticeably more engaged in their work when they have a hands on activity to do. These types of activities get students thinking and talking math.

The colored paper will help students become more organized. They will be able to easily find note sheets to help them study and maintain skills.
