My students are the best in the city! They are curious and thoughtful and love exploring new ideas. They are self-motivated and are always ready to discover new things. My students are articulate and have amazing conversations in class.
I teach at a Title I school in New York where most of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Despite the hardships they face at home, my students are always eager to learn about the world they live in. They amaze me daily.
My fourth grade students spend most of the year learning about fractions. Most years it is usually a difficult concept for nine and ten year olds to master. It is also a difficult one for adults at times too!
These fraction tiles will help make an abstract idea a concrete one.
Students usually have a hard time visualizing the decomposition of a whole into smaller equal sized parts. With these manipulatives, they can easily see that a whole cut into two equal sized parts still equals a whole, that a whole cut into three equal sized parts equals one whole and so on.
