Help me give my students resources to create an academic environment for my students; using adhesive anchor chart paper and cardstock to provide clear visual aids.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have the pleasure of accompanying a group of fantastic fourth graders. They are inquisitive and take pleasure in doing research to find their answers. My students come from inner city neighborhoods. Many of my students have experienced hardships such as poverty, death of immediate family members, and unstable living conditions. The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the trials that my students deal with. I am amazed by my students' resilience and joy as they come through my classroom doors and virtual meeting rooms everyday.
My students prioritize education they see it as an opportunity to create a better way of life, not just for themselves, but also for their family and community.
Sometimes the odds are against my students and they have to cope with social trauma and issues before they even start to learn. Despite their hardships, my students come to school and are eager to learn. This makes me proud!
My Project
My students are in need of resources that will contribute to an academic and safe environment for them to learn. My students are learning to use visual aids as a reference for learning.
The anchor chart paper with adhesive and adhesive sentence strips will give my students the opportunity to visual aids and will ensure that the anchor charts do not fall down.
The folders will help my students keep their desks organized as well allow me to keep the materials that I use for small group learning organized.
The hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes will help my students stay on top of their hygiene while they are in the classroom. These items will assist my students in having a safe and engaging school year.
