Some of my students still struggle with finding books that capture their attention. This year I'd like to provide more books in our classroom to capture a love of reading. My students enjoy being able to move around the classroom while they work. A class set of clipboards would allow them to do so.
I work in a Title 1 school.
Our school receives 100% free and reduced price lunches. My students are from low socioeconomic families. My students are hard workers and try their best despite their upbringing. Our staff cares deeply about the success of our students and we work hard to provide them with a quality education.
My Project
My students will be using the chapter books to take home and read. Many of my students do not have books available at home. They'll be a part of my classroom library where they can check out the books and return them when they're done. There are many activities in the classroom where I'd like to have my students move and work either independently or with a partner. It is very difficult doing so in the classroom without having clipboards to write on. I'm hoping that a class set of clipboards will foster a love of writing and partner work. My students will also use the storage containers for different projects that we will complete in the classroom throughout the year.
The donations from this project will improve my classroom and my students by expanding their reading skills and writing abilities.
I'd like to foster their love of learning and their ability to write and work together.
