My students need the extra practice building the basic foundations of math with a wildlife globe, fraction stax, math word problems, flash cards and bingo!
These students of mine are the greatest bunch of students! They love each other like family and will make new students feel the love too. Over seventy percent of my students are from a low income based home, but in the classroom, they are all the same and that is just a statistic. As the teacher of this wonderful group, it warms my heart to see my students get along so well. They all interact like one big family and I love it!
My students are the mini adults that I adore and truly love!
As their guardian for seven to eight hours a day, five days a week, I feel as though I am partially responsible for teaching them worldly and life lessons. My students love these moments when we simply talk and discuss real life issues. They are learning more than academics in the classroom and it is making a world of difference in them!
My Project
In a small town, down south, computing and understanding basic math is a very important skill to have. Some students grasps and understand the skills quickly, while some do not and need extra practice. Although worksheets are the quick and easy way to do so, using different manipulative materials are the most effective way.
The items requested in my project will help my students to build a better foundation of math which will lead them to greater success in the future.
The bingo game I have and the flash cards can also be used to help build the classroom community as well as helping the students to learn how to work together. My goal as the teacher is to make sure my students are learning the basics along with extended knowledge, all while having fun and enjoying themselves.
