Fostering Learning and 21st Century Skills With STEM Building Materials

Help me give my students Double-Sided Magnetic Letter and Number Tiles, Magna-Tiles, Creative Construction Magnetic Builders, and I Can Build It Construction Planks to help foster a love of learning and 21st Century Skills.

My Students

For many of my students, kindergarten is their first "school" experience. They come to school excited to learn and to meet new friends. They are learning the basics of school routines, how to work with others, and how to learn something that may be brand new to them. It is a joy to work with my students and see their excitement each time they try something new or master a skill they have been working on.

Students in my classroom are learning to use their own creativity, communication skills, and skills for collaboration to develop and deepen their love of learning.

We feel very fortunate to be at school for in-person learning this year to develop these skills with hands-on and cooperative learning experiences.

My Project

These STEM building materials will help my students develop a love for learning as they explore building with the materials. My students love trying something new! The variety of magnetic tiles, magnetic builders, and building planks will provide new learning experiences for my students.

With these new STEM building materials my students will develop the 21st Century Skills of creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication as they build and create with the materials.

My students will have the opportunity to develop these skills as they work together to build and create with these building materials.

Because of COVID-19, many of my students did not have as many opportunities to interact with other children that they may have previously had before COVID-19. Materials that provide my students with opportunities to work together as they create are perfect for helping to foster the love of learning that will carry them through their education as well as the communication and collaboration skills that will help them successfully engage with others.
