Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I have a great group of students they are trying their best. This is the first time that we are offering Forensic Science and the students are requesting hands-on activities, but we don't have any supplies or resources. Although we have completed some activities virtually it is not quite the same as actual hands experience. I appreciate my students because they are trying to make the most of what we have or don't have. They will really benefit if I can provide them with forensic science kits so they can actually engage in real simulations.

My Project

Forensic kits such as crime scene investigations, hair fiber, and fingerprinting will make the forensic science couse so much more interesting.

My students will benefit from actually doing the activities in the kit versus just reading about it and doing worksheets.

The kits are aligned with the NGSS and match the curriculum that I am currently teaching.

Imagine students taking hair samples and finding the suspect or looking at different types of fibers instead of pictures to determine the relationship to the crime scene. The engagement level will be optimal and the scholars eager to come to class to solve the next case.
