My Project

I teach fifth grade at a small, neighborhood Title One school. One percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.

I would like to get essential items for our upcoming unit on Forces and Motion.

I would like for my students to measure weight using a device called a spring scale, and they will find out that they cannot measure the total weight of an object without the full force of gravity. I have balance scales in my classroom but do not have metric weight sets. I would like for my students to measure mass using a balance scale. I will use the cars and frogs in an activity where my students will test Newton's First Law of Motion.
