Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I learn so much from my students when they are allowed to be creative with project-based learning. I learn how they think by watching them build. My students LOVE using the Gravitrax marble run to come up with challenging methods of getting the marbles to go faster based on gravity, force, and motion. This is the best method of teaching force and motion that I have ever used. My students have special needs and get easily bored with direct instruction. They never show mastery of concepts when I rely on only worksheets and pen and pencil assessments. This is a really fun activity and I love having my students end the year with this fun method of learning so that they remember it over the long summer and are excited to return to school in the fall.
