Our school is in a mostly rural setting but the students are actually quite diverse. My kids come from all different backgrounds, some of them even being transfer students and driving a long distance to get here. All of my students have a unique quality about them that I adore, and that sets them apart from their peers. Some of my kids come from harder backgrounds than others, but when they enter my classroom you feel no divide between anyone.
Students have been learning about cause and effect in our reading class, and we are wanting to put it to a test. I found these awesome Design and Play STEAM Planes Kits that will help our students integrate their cause and effects skills with our Force and Motion unit in Science. Once we reach the end of the unit, these kits would be a wonderful end of unit lab/activity so that students can practice what they have been taught. The kits will allow each student to design their own airplane and then test how gravity will affect their airplanes. Not only will we be able to cover our science standards, but I will be able to integrate reading standards into this activity. It’s a win win!!
