Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The students’ in our classroom are very dedicated to their learning. They work hard, treat each other with respect, and know that they are at school each day to learn. They welcome everyone that enters our room as if they have been apart of our class for the entire year. They love technology, hands-on activities, and projects we get to do in class. For most, this is the very first year to ever step foot in a classroom and I would love to be able to give each student everything he/she needs to have successful education!

My Project

The students love various learning tools. Currently school wide, we are using a program called iReady. This is an awesome tool because it assesses each student to see what level they are on for math and reading. Then, it gives each student individualized lessons according to their test results. Every student in the classroom loves this program. It is user-friendly and engaging. Right now, the students are using a computer to complete their lessons with a mouse or a keypad. They will get so much more and be able to access the lessons much easier with the touch of their fingers using an iPad instead! If the students have iPads, then they would be able to sit anywhere in the classroom, and be able to use headphones to hear the learning programs they are using!
