My Project
When a child reads or listens to a good an inspiring story, it has the power to transform the way a child views the world around them. In today society, we are face with many challenges in which children struggle to understand. At my school and inside my classroom, we hope to support students making connection with literature, their world, and their own personal goals. One of the main concepts that every teacher at my school aims to include in all lessons critical thinking and making global/real life connections.
My students love to listen to inspiring books and the discussion that occurs afterward is amazing!
They make connection and ask exciting questions at such a young age. As a teacher, I love to watching my students work with a partner talking about inspiring people of the past and/or inspirational stories which they see themselves in the characters. Watching these moments, has truly made me want to provide additional resources/tools for them to use to continue to grow. In additional to expanding our library items like the envelopes and will allow us to incorporate writing as we make connection to these stories. Within a small group setting, students enjoy and practice their writing skills with support.
By encourage the love of reading, teachers can impower a new generation to ask questions, become inspired and impact the world around them. The inclusion of these resources inside the classroom which will be used in both whole group and small group setting can support my students understanding of diversity, self-empowerment, and our community. The world of literature is a powerful tool that is fun and easy to use inside the classroom.
