I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting my students because they are out of school for summer break. However, I have heard great things from former teachers and administrators about the students coming into my classroom for the upcoming school year.
These children are smart and eager to learn.
They love to test the limits and explore new concepts and ideas. They are hard working and determined to equip themselves with skills and knowledge before leaving elementary school next year.
I can't wait to meet all of the wonderful students who walk through my doors in August! I want to create a safe and welcoming environment in which my students can learn and thrive. I also want to provide my students with a sense of community and countless opportunities to become independent and confident individuals with a lifelong passion for learning!
My Project
Hello! My name is Miss Diamond and I am a 6th-grade reading teacher! Over the course of this school year, I hope to instill in my students a lifelong passion for reading. I have selected a handful of award-winning and classic titles for the students in my class. Having these books readily available to my students will allow them to explore and discover a variety of genres, writing styles, and authors.
I want to give my students the experience of getting lost in a great book!
I hope to change the way they've perceived reading in the past. I'll do so by providing them with an eclectic assortment of books that will pique the interest of all the students who walk through my door.
