Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Day in and day out, my third graders come into our classroom ready to learn! They are driven and determined to be successful with everything they set their mind to. My students are diverse and each and everyone of them is a unique, amazing individual. They come from many different backgrounds, have different interests, and they all learn at different academic levels. Despite their differences, they all have one thing in common which is that they all share the love of learning.

My Project

The book I am requesting is a bittersweet story that many 3rd graders will relate to. In the past, I have read the book aloud and had students listen and answer questions about the text.

To instill a deeper love for Stone Fox, I am requesting a copy of each of my student to follow along with while I read aloud.

This will provide my students with the opportunity to reread parts that are interesting to them or reread parts that they are unsure of. This will also allow them the opportunity to read if they miss school or want to read further ahead.
