Help me give my students the classroom library of their dreams. Harry Potter, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Amulet, WWII stories, and more are books relevant for years to come.
This will be my second year with students, and I could not be more excited! The students at my school are very fun to be around. Warm hugs or fist bumps in the mornings and friendly goodbyes at the end of the day make for an awesome school year!
My kiddos always have the biggest hearts.
Many come from low SES backgrounds, and they need a warm and comforting place to go to every day. A "home away from home" if you will. These students come from all different types of backgrounds and personalities, and they bring so many exciting experiences to the classroom.
My Project
The library that was left to our classroom has many outdated books, as well as books that don't interest today's students. Every day my students get at least twenty minutes of reading time. Having books in the classroom that pique their interest helps get students into reading right away. It draws them in and takes them on journies to other worlds, times, and places. It helps them step into someone else's shoes for a brief moment of their day, so they can forget their worries and stresses.
I surveyed my students in order to select books at their interest level and reading level to get added to our library.
