My students need books like Dork Diaries, Classroom Posters, Epic Zero Series Books 1-3, Ready Player One, to expand our reading library and paper lanterns for our reading area.
The individuals that will be impacted by this project are a mixture of general education and special education students. We are a very diverse community with the majority of our students receiving free or reduced-price lunches. The diversity in our community truly creates a positive learning environment.
In our classroom, students begin their journey to becoming lifelong readers.
They come into this classroom as struggling readers. When they leave, they have the necessary tools to comprehend and understand what they read. Many of my students are bilingual and face economic challenges.
My Project
Our students are always giving us their input on what books we should have in our class library. In time, we hope to have enough books to offer something for everyone. Having choices helps our struggling readers in ways that we can not begin to explain.

Our goal is to inspire our students and guide them on the path to becoming lifelong readers. Creating a stimulating learning environment is also an important part of being an educator. The colorful lanterns will hang over our reading carpet to create a comforting work space.
When students have the necessary tools and supplies, the possibilities are endless. Everything in our classroom is carefully thought out in order to promote a positive learning environment.
