My Students

I have 16 students all with unique learning styles and personalities. I love teaching skills that will stick with my students for life and am adamant about teaching the WHOLE child, not just academics! Our school is located next to a United States Marine Corps base, so many students are showing their bravery while their parents are making a huge sacrifice for us all. Our class ranges in abilities and socioeconomic backgrounds, but we are a classroom family and all share a love for learning.

My Project

An obstacle I face as a teacher is finding the funds to provide a diverse selection of books for my students to read in our classroom library. My students need leveled books from reading levels D-J (First Grade Levels) to fit their "just right" reading needs. The students in my classroom have a love for reading and are constantly looking for new reading material in any form. Having extra book options in my classroom that fit their academic needs and interest them will allow me to continue to inspire and encourage a love of reading that will stick with them throughout their educational careers and into adult life.
