it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

On the first day of school, our class broke into applause and rejoiced over how much they enjoyed reading.
As a kindergarten class in a Chicago Public School we are faced with many challenges. However, despite the struggles some of our students face; such as language learning and low-income, they come to school every day excited to learn. Our kindergarten class is exceptionally sweet, caring, and genuinely enthusiastic about learning to read!
My Project
Our rug is the most important spot in our classroom. It is our shared space where we meet for morning meetings, read-alouds, sharing our work, and independent reading time. A new vibrant rug will allow everyone to comfortably sit together.
An inviting listening center will provide students a chance to listen to exciting stories during our daily center rotations. A new "fun" listening center will help us fall in love with storytelling.
Help nurture our class' intrinsic love for learning by providing an inviting opportunity that will foster their love for reading.
