Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
A typical day in my kindergarten classroom involves movement, dancing, singing, and many group activities. We do many centers in our room where students are given a lot of free choice to match their learning style. There are many after school opportunities and events for students and families to get involved in.
Our school is student-focused, yet lacks resources.
It is a very upbeat and happy environment. These five and six-year-olds want to be engaged in their lessons and want to include their families. In order for this to happen, we need more materials to involve parents/families and to keep them "in the know." We need a way to communicate daily with students' families.
My Project
My kindergarteners would benefit greatly from your support. These materials would provide a comfy space for my students to read on as well as storage to keep their books. An ABC rug would be a great space for my class to sit on during whole group instruction while keeping their bodies in a safe space.
My five and six year olds would be so engaged with hands-on activities and games to ignite their imagination!
My students love to learn through play. This increases their language as well as social, emotional, and academic skills. The activities requested would be used during our daily center time, learning lab time, and free choice time.
