My Students

My students attend a Title I school in which we have a high population of families with low income. My students come from all different backgrounds and dynamics. Some of my students are considered "at risk" and living near the term of poverty.

My students love to learn and be at school in a loving and supporting environment.

My students are eager to learn but lack motivation sometimes. They are very curious about the world around them and take any opportunity to explore beyond what they know.

My Project

As a bookworm, I make it a priority to have interesting and eye catching books in our class library. It makes my teacher heart happy to see kids that just can't put down a book they are interested in. “There's no such thing as a kid who hates reading. There are kids who love reading, and kids who are reading the wrong books.”- James Patterson

I want to make sure that our school library has books that get every kid interested in reading, even if they want to read the same book over and over again.

Having a wide variety of graphic novels in our library will help get kids invested in reading, no matter what their favorite subject matter is. Igniting this love for reading through graphic novels will carry on throughout their lives and serve them well!
