Help me give my students new copies of the graphic novels they love best including The Babysitter's Club, Dogman, and Smile are loved by boys and girls across the grades.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students love to read. They love to read so much that the demand for books is greater than the supply! When you see a student at our school, he or she will always have a book in hand.
At our school, there is an energy about reading, and our readers are constantly looking for new adventures in books.
They talk about books with each other, with me, and with all of their teachers. They follow the latest releases of all their favorite series and authors on GoodReads, DogoBooks, and Amazon. Our kids are life long readers who embrace the magic of reading.
My Project
Students at my school cannot get enough graphic novels. Graphic novels go out of our library so fast that they rarely get back to the shelf. When a new release comes into the library, there is begging and pleading to be the first student to check out the book. These titles are so popular in my library, that many are tattered, torn and beyond repair. My graphic novel section is desperately in need of being replaced.
Graphic novels are full of vibrant pictures and engaging text that grab both our newly emerging and most reluctant readers.
The ongoing plots and relatable characters leave our students coming back for more, again and again. Graphic novels help to build a love of reading, which is why it's so important to keep our library stocked with them.
