Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Each day my students come in dressed for success!!

My sixth graders are determined and motivated.

They love to learn and want to be successful. They come from an area where they are surrounded by poverty and encounter numerous obstacles sometimes just on their way to school, yet they remain determined and motivated.

My Project

I would love to give my students a brand new classroom library! It's heart breaking that my students often can't find a good book fall into. I want to instill in my students a love of books and of reading. I want to give them an endless supply (or a close as I cant get to that) of books for them to explore and to fall in love with reading.

By adding more books to my classroom library there will be so much that I can do and so much that I can show my students.

For example, I will be able to show my students how much fun reading can be! They will be able to relax, read and forget about life for awhile.
