My students need an easel to help with the differentiation of instruction, as well as a classroom rug to add beauty and comfort to our space.

My school is the epitome of a cultural melting pot! It is infused with diversity. On any given day, you will witness the varying cultural and religious attires, the different acccents and languages that students speak. Students represent over 50 countries around the world.
All of our students are immigrants or refugees and they are smart, eager to learn and extremely appreciative of the many opportunities that the US has provided.
However, many of them have never been to a formal school and as a result, they are below grade level. Students spend a maximum of two years with us learning English and other disciplines. It is therefore imperative that they get the best support to ease with transition. My job is to meet them wherever they are in their academic journey and take them further.
This is why your contribution is needed to fund some supplies that will enhance the classroom and make learning smoother for us all.
Thank you for your generosity. It is immensely appreciated.
As the "Newcomer School", we accept students on a rolling basis. This is due to their date of admission to the US. Many of the students have no formal school history and they are all non- English speakers. Differentiating instruction is therefore a must! I have to reach students where they are in their academic and language journeys. An easel will allow for me to sufficiently differentiate instructions and group students and consequently enhance their learning. In addition to daily instruction, an easel displaying extra activities will also reduce downtime so students can always be productive. A portable easel can be used all throughout the day.
A classroom rug is further needed to provide beauty and comfort to our classroom.
Students need to feel safe and comfortable in their learning environment. This will certainly benefit those who have suffered trauma in their past.
