Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a small public school within a large urban school district. My students are as diverse as the members of the communities they come from, but are united in their thirst for learning and goals to advance via education.
My students are bright and hardworking and I applaud their continuous efforts to own their learning through discovery and inquiry.
Many of my students consider solving challenging mathematics problems worthy of perseverance and maximum effort. With the right classroom tools and experiences, their academic growth will be incredible, this year and in the future.
My Project
My Math Honor Society students participate in numerous in school competitions. At the end of the year the top performing students, as well as the participants, receive recognition for their work. In order to print color certificates, color ink will be used. In addition, the three students who are in the Math Honor leadership team, will be recognized for their participation over the last two school years.
Mathematics Honor Society members and their student leaders will be recognized for a job well done in school-wide competitions.
The top performing students in each different contest will receive a color certificate to commend their preparation and work.
