This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I currently have 30 students in my fourth grade class. My students are great students who have a love for technology, reading, writing, science, math, and social studies. They are very excited about learning, and I want to make the class interactive. I want to help them succeed in their challenging environment. I teach an inclusion class. I have four students that are autistic in my class. They blend right in with my students.
The students in my classroom are a diverse group of children who come from intricate family backgrounds.
Our school is located across the street from two homeless shelters for families. It is an upstart program that helps students and their families get help to find permanent housing. I teach at a low-income school and in a classroom full of eager learners who are enthusiastic about coming to school every day!
My Project
My students need a measuring tape, markers, papers, glue sticks and more so that they can create their food truck business. They have been working so hard on creating a food truck model for our school competition. This project will teach my students about financial literacy. They have already started meeting with local food truck owners so that they can get an understanding of how to start their business.
My students will practice oral speaking skills, writing, and cooperative learning skills.
My students will research and apply knowledge of food truck menus to create a unique menu for their new business.
In addition, my students will create their own 3D models of their own food trucks and using paper, glue, and markers, they will also develop their own menu.
