Food for Thought!

Help me give my students the ability to embrace healthy eating habits by creating healthy snacks. and the brain fuel they need to think critically and embrace their individual learning potential.

My Students

Our students are resilient, persistent, determined, and powerful! Since September 2021, our students have returned to an in-person learning environment that often changes to a virtual environment as the world health crisis continues. These changes have been challenging on numerous levels, but they continue to persevere and have been deemed, SUPERSTARS! We're so proud of them!

My Project

Our "Food for Thought" project will provide individual "love bags" of crucial food resources that will help our children sustain attention throughout the school day, whether they're participating in a virtual setting or an in-person setting.

At this time, many of our students are unable to pick up food via the city-wide food distribution centers, so these individual bags of food will be sent home with them at the end of a school day.

We know that basic needs like food and safety are essential in building the foundation for learning and readiness for school each day. We've also requested Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Multi-Surface Cleaner Spray to help keep our classrooms clean and sanitized while we're creating the bags for distribution. We take immense pride in the cleanliness of our classroom!

Having access to quality nutrition is critical for our students, and school is the only place that food is consistent on a daily basis. We have several children with restrictive dietary needs, so these items will meet their special needs. The requested items such as apple juice, cereal, soups, pancake mix, and macaroni and cheese are the class favorites. We also added in fun socks and bubbles to bring a little joy to their life.
