My students are full of energy, passionate, artistic, creative, and eager to learn in spite of disadvantages many of them have been dealt early in life. Many of them come from high poverty backgrounds and do not have some of their basic needs met at home.
My sweet students come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically.
They inspire me every day! It's my goal to provide a classroom environment where they can leave their personal worries at the door and focus on their education.
My Project
Many of my students come to school without breakfast from home and get their only meals while at school. Most of my students eat some or all of the school provided breakfast to get their day started. Our 11:00 lunch comes quickly, but leaves us with a long afternoon of learning with no fuel for growing minds and bodies!
Many of my families do not have funds to purchase snacks for kids at school.
When they do send in snacks, it often is not healthy. I am requesting healthy snacks to help build strong minds.
Providing my students with a healthy afternoon snack will ensure that no student goes hungry while in my classroom. These snacks will also provide an extra boost to stay focused and energized while we tackle our rigorous curriculum.
