I work in a Title l school where my students have diverse abilities and needs. Some of our students worry about where they will live day to day, if they will eat when they get home from school, and many other adult issues children should not have to face. Despite that, my students always put on a brave face and face the challenges of academics the best way they know how.
"Believe, Achieve and Succeed" is our school motto and I know with the right materials all my students can succeed.
I work with students who access special education services and sometimes a more non-traditional approach to learning allows them to gain much-needed skills.
Some days it is just to hard to concentrate on learning when you are feeling hungry. My groups and I are hoping to get some crunchy snacks to help us make it until lunch time.
I work with all students of different ages and ability levels and sometimes having a favorite snack, like Goldfish, helps them focus on the lesson being taught.
As a school that serves a population of mostly free and reduced lunches, my students' families don't always have the means to provide them with a daily snack and I would like to be able to take that worry off their plate.
