My students need a variety of fruit snacks, Goldfish crackers, and prepared meals to assist with their focus during the school day by allowing them to have full stomachs.
My school is a Title l school in North Charleston, SC. Many students in my class come from low-income families and face impoverished living conditions. Many others come from families who do not speak English.
Despite all of the hardships they have experienced in their young lives, my students come to school with a smile on their face and ready to learn each day!
These students work their hardest to be the best version of themselves that they can be!
My Project
As an adult it can be difficult for me to concentrate on and complete tasks each day on an empty stomach. But, that is the reality many of my students face on a daily basis. I have witnessed several students walking in to start their in a "hangry" mood - being in a angry state of mind because of a lack of food in the home. This causes the students to not only be in a bad mood, but causes a lack of concentration that they can't overcome on their own. As their teacher, it is my job to make sure my students have enough nutrients to maintain focus, curb their hunger throughout the school day, and not walk around "hangry." Thank you in advance for providing my students with a supply of snacks that can help improve their focus throughout the school day as well as their moods.
