This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students attend a Title I school in Pa. and almost all receive free or reduced-price lunch and breakfast. They attend a typical inner-city school. Most face serious obstacles before they even walk through the doors in the morning. Our goal is to make our school a safe and loving environment.
Our students come from diverse backgrounds and different countries.
This makes our school pretty special in so many ways. The students all work so hard and are very deserving of this project.
My Project
Our students sometimes come to school facing so much before they even walk through our doors. Our goal is to make sure every child feels welcomed and loved. As teachers, we try to provide everything they can possibly need to get through their school day. Sometimes this includes supplying them with healthy snacks. My students love having the options of crackers, popcorn, protein bars, and Cheez-Its. Having access to snacks at any time allows them to do what they come to school for and that is to learn. If they are hungry it is hard to focus on anything else.
