My Project

My students are superheroes! They have a range of disabilities making it more difficult for them to learn and succeed in school (learning disabilities, speech-language impairment, autism...) but they show up each day, eager to learn and overcome these challenges. They are often hungry throughout the day and ask me for snacks when they come to my class. Should we allow their hunger to interfere with their focus and add an additional challenge to their struggle? I am a speech teacher and my job is to teach my students strategies to improve their comprehension, expressive language and critical thinking skills to benefit them in all their classes and outside the classroom as well. Help me make a difference by providing a variety of snacks to increase their focus!
