This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are special because they are my students. Some may come from residential treatment homes, some are may not have homes at all, all are diagnosed with some emotional-behavioral disorder that makes their education needs more challenging.
Best of all though the students are mine to love!
The students ability to learn is affected by their behavior or emotional disorder that got them placed at the setting. They are wonderful but have some issues to work on! Some of the situations and home they come from are very negative and the only place they ever feel loved may be in the classroom!
My Project
The students are motivated by food incentives especially regarding their behavior so the snacks will greatly help my students. Most of my students are from low income families so they often do not get snacks.
The microwave will help make sure that the kids have warm food since they have to bring it from the cafeteria and we can also use it for projects.
The reading material will help just finding something that interest my students and we can discuss and they may find their lifelong interest!
I hope that I can inspire my students to improve their lot in life.
They also will enjoy the art/ craft projects which seems to help them focus since it is a hands-on activity.
