Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our Determined Dolphin students that are without their basic needs, still login to Google Classroom, as we've provided a Chromebook for each student. School supplies and packets were provided and we have an amazing Family Outreach that provided 36 food boxes every 2 weeks to our families.
Our distance learning circumstances have been challenging.
With minimal student interactions because we are not physically together is devastating. Many parents have been laid-off, some undocumented and their basic needs are not being met. My kids are hungry while we are in this coronavirus pandemic.
My Project
These snacks will reach many families who are in need of food! Every other Friday our school community drops off boxes full of groceries. Which helps out parents on how they will be able to feed their kids.
During this pandemic, we distribute food boxes to 36 families and that number is going up.
With the help of these food boxes, many of our students will be able to learn because their bellies are full.
Our school community has been doing our best with keeping up with deliveries, but these items will be a small help with the ongoing search of food. Please help our community with providing a basic need that most us are fortunate of having. Let's help each other!
