This year, my classroom is home to our 25 future ambassadors, scientists, entrepreneurs, and teachers.These students are dreamers, thinkers, talkers, and questioners. Their backgrounds span the globe and their diversity is recognized and celebrated throughout the school.
My students are motivated to learn and full of energy.
Each has his/her own unique story, learning style, and passion for knowledge. They work hard and are encouraged to work and learn independently and cooperatively. They are my crew and I want to be sure they have the tools they need to reach their full potential.
My Project
Although breakfast is free and available to all students, many do not like the menu of the day. As we are scheduled for the last lunch of the day, my students need a "pick me up" to help get them through the long morning. A child will not focus if they are hungry. They will just stare at the clock and watch time pass instead of learning about geography, fractions or how to make inferences. By having Nutri-grain bars, crackers, and healthy snack packs for morning snacks, my kids will have the boost they need to keep them focused and on task, as well as provide much needed energy to get through the morning.
