My students need file holder boxes, rolling storage carts, and dry erase sleeves to have easier access to their materials and a better example to follow.
My students come from all manner of backgrounds and family situations. They are all eager to learn and to do the best they possibly can. They are eager to find new ways to apply and engage with the materials.
Students constantly look for ways to apply what they have learned.
My job is to find a new way to engage them and find a way to take abstract concepts and apply them to daily life in ways that all children can comprehend.
My Project
I have been very lucky to get lots of supplies for my class. I have a wonderful bookshelf I am constantly looking to stock with more material. I have lots of manipulatives and hands-on materials for math. What I don't have is a neat place to put it all. We need file holder boxes, rolling storage carts, dry erase sleeves and other supplies.
When we go out to recess, the students have to take each individual piece of equipment, but I am hoping to switch to a durable mesh bag.
I have wrapped an Amazon box in tape and construction paper and called that the math bin. Finding the supplies inside the bin takes far longer than it should. I am hoping to get two sets of drawers for my classroom to make the materials more accessible. I also am asking for pocket sleeves and grouping pencils to help the students keep their work neat.
