My Students

My students attend a very demanding high school. The school has been No. 1 in the state of Louisiana since 1957!

There is a lot of pressure to succeed, from the parents, the teachers and the students themselves.

They put the bar very high, always.

I'm the nurse and am in contact with kids all day long. A nasty headache, a bad period, a scratch, a twisted ankle... I always have a student in my rest room.

I love to take care of my "babies"!

My Project

Once a week, the health and wellness club meets. The topics of discussion are hygiene, vaping, mental health, drugs and other similar health-related issues.

They work on preparing posters, workshops, bookmark that they present during lunch time in the courtyard, where students gather.

This club is self-directed. The students choose their topics of presentation and they advocate safe and healthy lifestyle with their peers. They also present during school-wide events.

This is why they need folding tables that are easy to install and removed for their displays. They also need chairs to sit and for their guests/listeners to sit as well.

The students learn to organize, to be responsible, they learn public speaking and knowledge of content. It's a valuable experience for them and the school community.
