This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
This year, I have 25 kindergarten students that live in one of the most impoverished areas of Detroit. Many don’t have access to supplies and the things they need to get the most out of their education. Providing them with a fun, engaging environment helps foster a love of learning, especially since it is their first time in school.
My Project
These folder games will allow students to independently practice skills during workshop. The games are easy enough for even my low learners to work on by themselves or with a partner for support.
Games and fun activities get students excited about learning.
Our curriculum is very rigorous and sometimes not very fun. By having additional resources to practice the skills I teach, students get a chance to learn by playing.
The kits I chose were math and reading based. With so many games, I can use these folder games all day long and students won't be bored.
