Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from all over the world and they arrive in my classroom with varying levels of exposure to books, STEM tools, and other early foundational skills.
Help me give my students more exposure to foundational fields by providing them with specific, hands-on STEM-building tools, as well as a complete listening center.
Hands-on STEM tools such as number links, shape links, and geostix will help my students develop problem solving skills naturally as they explore, create, and analyze with each tool. STEM tools will boost my students' problem-solving skills and prepare them for future success in this critical field.
And although STEM is incredibly important, it is not the only foundational skill this project will focus on. Another goal of this project is to create a complete listening center for my kindergarteners to use during independent station rotation time. This center will boost my students' exposure to books that are outside of their current reading level, and because each book is accompanied by a CD, students will be able to enjoy these books independently with their headphones, a headphone splitting device, and a kid-friendly CD player.
