My students need wobble stools, balance balls, and wobble cushions as flexible seating options so they are able to take control of their learning in a work space that feels comfortable to them.
Our school is located in a small farming community. We are able to look out the window of our classroom and see fields of corn, a red barn, and cows. Even though we are a small community, my students each have unique backgrounds and experiences. Several students have experienced trauma in their lives and my goal is to provide a comforting, inviting classroom where they are focused on learning.
While I cannot control what happens when my students are not with me, I can control their experiences in my classroom!
I hope to inspire my students to show kindness and acceptance of others! My kiddos love having the opportunity to move around, make their own choices, and work alongside their peers.
My Project
By having access to flexible seating such as wobble stools, balance balls, and wobble cushions, my students will feel more empowered by having some choice and control over their learning environment. This seating allows the students to wobble, rock, bounce, lean, and stand, which will increase the oxygen flow to the brain, allowing them to stay more alert and focused!
My goal is to have a classroom environment that allows the students to effectively collaborate, communicate, and critically think about the curriculum.
Flexible seating choices can be easily configured in the classroom which will support my students varied learning styles.
